Almost heaven

Recently Dan and I splurged on a treat for our bedroom -- 2 new sets of bedsheets. You may not think this is a big deal, but I actually like them a whole lot more than I thought I would, mainly because I have totally forgotten what it's like to sleep on new sheets. The first (and last) time we had new sheets for our bed was our first Christmas together, 10 years ago, when Dan's sister Julie got us a lovely set of red flannel sheets. Before this, I think the only other time I have ever had new bedsheets is when my parents bought their first home and I got new sheets for my new bed. I was 10 years old.
Dan and I didn't get any new bedsheets when we got married, just some hand-me-downs from several parents. So sleeping on brand-new, quality, sturdy, soft bedsheets is quite a treat, almost a brand new experience. Add that to the fact that my favorite smell in the whole world is a newly washed pillowcase, and my bed is almost like heaven.
