Just call me Anne

I am Anne Elliot!

Take the Quiz here!

I just got back from my monthly book club meeting. We discussed Persuasion by Jane Austen. One of my friends there told me about this quiz, and it was a lot of fun. I think I share several qualities with Eleanor Dashwood as well, but apparently I am most like Anne Elliot.

One guy in our group today learned a profound lesson while reading Persuasion. He said he was raised to believe that if a woman dumps you, or goes for another guy, just write her off because there's lots of fish in the ocean and you're sure to find someone better than her.

But he learned from Captain Wentworth's character that that sort of pride in a man can ruin his life. If you really were truly happy with a woman, then it is completely worth it to go back to her, make it work, and make it last. Anyone else you find just won't be the same, and someone else will get your happiness with the woman you truly loved. (Just make sure you get her back before a dashing young cousin comes along and snatches her up! :)

*sigh* It makes me want to read the rest of Jane's novels all over again. Although I have to admit, not all of Jane's heroines are as good as Anne. Some of them are downright silly, but I will leave that for you to judge which one you think is best. :)
