While driving to church today, we passed by a new library branch the city has been building all year. It is just a 3 minute drive from our house, maybe a 20-25 minute walk with kids in a stroller. It will open in 1-2 weeks. I am so excited! I always like taking the kids to the library to look at books, and both of the girls LOVE reading.
We've been fixing up the house a little. We got the living room carpet cleaned this past week, and I'm getting estimates for having the trees trimmed. The carpet is a light cream/beige color, so dirt always stands out. The carpet guy that came did an absolutely terrific job. I immediately printed up a sign and hung it by the front door; "Put off thy shoes from off thy feet-- Exodus 3:5" It's tough keeping a carpet clean with an infant spitting up all over the place, a toddler walking everywhere sloshing her sippy cup, and a 5 year old running in and out of the house. But I still like carpet more than wood or tile.
Saturday I took a state test to be a life insurance agent, and I passed! I'm an agent with Primerica, and it's completely a do-it-on-your-own-time job. I don't have to go into an office every day, I have a team I meet with about once a week for a short training meeting, I work when I want to at my own pace, and the commission is pretty good. I'm going to take my time getting started, but it's a really fun opportunity.
