This afternoon, Stephen and Emily helped me fill the seedling cups with potting soil.
After watering them a little, we put a variety of seeds in, labeled the cups, and watered them again.
I then went into the back yard and plotted out my garden. It's not big at all, and will probably get a little bigger after we rototill in a couple weeks.
I'm so frustrated! The kids poked around in the seed cups a few days after I'd planted them, but most of the plants came up anyway. Then I thought they were safe up high from the cats when I'd bring them in at night -- I was wrong. I caught one of them jumping down and found he'd eaten all my green bean and cucumber seedlings! Now I have to start them all over again!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are starting a garden this year. Now we might be able to swap ideas on what works best.
Good for you, Jean! You have a great back yard (and compost pile) for it! We are expanding our raised garden bed on the south of the house and had our landscaper come over this morning so that he can work up an estimate. Now is the time to plan our gardens!
