Lately we discovered that you can make homemade donuts out of a can
of small plain biscuits. Just fry them in some oil, drain on paper
towels, and coat them with cinnamon and sugar. Our first attempt
turned out so well that tonight, for Family Home Evening, we decided
to make them with the jumbo size biscuits. They looked great, and
tasted great until you got to the second or third bite. That's when
Emily said, "Mmmm! Cheese filled donuts!" Of course it wasn't really
cheese. The biscuits were just so big that they never cooked all the
way through. Dan and I thought they were decent enough to finish
one, then April commented that they tasted like grilled cheese
donuts. And it was true. They were just too gooey. So the last two
went in the trash. For all of you who want to make your own homemade
donuts, please use the small cans of biscuits and you won't be
disappointed. Don't use the jumbo cans unless you're a BIG fan of
grilled cheese!
