We both celebrated fun birthdays these past couple months. Emily's celebration was much more flamboyant, but mine was yummier! :)
Emily had several friends and cousins over for a big birthday party/play date. We put together our play fort and hit birthday balloons all around the house. Early on the kids tried to play Chase the Cat, but fortunately the cat was able to slip into the backyard before the game really got going.
Emily had a dinosaur birthday cake, and got lots of great presents from everyone. She is really enjoying being three years old now. I think she feels more grown up, not being in diapers like her little brother, and being able to play with bigger girl toys like her sister does. Emily loves reading and singing, and she loves playing with teddy bears and dolls.
Emily can draw an actual person now when she colors, instead of just scribbles. You know those amoeba-type drawings, where the person's body is a big circle with a huge smiley face right in the middle, and there are several sticks protruding from the circle at various locations, representing arms, legs, and hair.
As I said earlier, my birthday celebration was yummier than Emily's, because Dan treated me to a delicious dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. I had a veal cutlet with a red berry wine demi-glace and creme brulee. OH MY GOSH! That is now my favorite dish in the entire world!!
